Incorrectly configured regions are just one of many possible reasons why a CC might be perceived as “broken”
This tool currently only checks KNEE & CALF regions. Please send me additional broken CC on my Discord to help me expand this tool.
Many CCs consist not just of one mesh, but of a combination of several meshes for different regions of the body. This is so that garments can cover or overlap other garments. For example, high shoes or a hat. However, these regions are not always correctly defined, which can lead to display issues.
In this example, parts of the body disappear when the dress is combined with high boots.
The dress consists of 3 different meshes. A “Base” mesh which is always loaded, a “CALF” mesh and a “KNEE” mesh. The last two are displayed or not depending on the rest of the Sim's outfit.
This tool of the Mod Manager now looks at these regions/meshes and checks whether they are in a realistic range. In other words, a calf mesh should not show anything above the hip.
If the Mod Manager finds meshes in unusual regions, they will be displayed in this tool.
Open the tool and click on Refresh
to start the check. Depending on the number of CCs you have and the performance of your PC, this can take quite a while.
Afterwards, the detected CCs are displayed in a list. You can also see which mesh has exceeded the set region boundaries.
You will often see 3-4 meshes of the same type. This is normal as most CC have 4 levels of LoD (Level of Detail).
Please do NOT use this tool to simply delete all displayed CCs. Please use it to find possible broken CC and test if it is really broken.
